The 2015 Ford Mustang was officially revealed today, and America’s original pony car is causing quite the buzz.
As the Mustang celebrates its 50th birthday next year, it has been refreshed in nearly every aspect. The new Mustang has the same wheelbase as the previous generation, but its track and body have been widened to 64.9 inches, giving it an athletic stance. The car retains some of the retro design cues of the Mustangs of the past 10 years, with three LED gills near the headlights and the classic triple vertical tail light wrapping up the fastback.
The interior of the ‘Stang has been completely redesigned as well, featuring better quality seat materials and surfaces with soft touch plastics. The center stack features the optional MyFord Touch system, a first for the Mustang. There is even a little more room for the passengers in the larger cabin.
Perhaps the most shocking aspect of the new 2015 Ford Mustang is the introduction of the 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine as an available powerplant. The 3.7 V6 remains the standard motor and the GT keeps the 5.0L V8. They’re supposedly going to be more powerful than last year, so the new Mustang will also feature bigger brakes.
North Point Ford Pryor looks forward to offering the new Mustang late next year. Do you like the new ‘Stang? Let us know in the comments!
